Nigerian striker Anthony Ujah has joined German Bundesliga club Mainz for three million euros pending a medical.

According to media reports in Norway, his club Lillestrom will be paid 2.5 million euros and earn an extra 500,000 euros once the 20-year-old Ujah has made 10 appearances for the German top flight club, who will feature in the UEFA Champions League after they finished fifth this past season.
Lillestrom though have refused to comment on the player’s transfer.
Ujah trained only lightly Thursday and will fly out to Germany Saturday for a medical as well as to negotiate his own personal terms.
Ujah joined the Norwegian club in February 2010 on a four-year contract.
The Nigeria Olympic international has netted 13 goals in 12 matches this season. He has scored a total of 27 goals for his Norwegian club in 33 appearances over two seasons.
His phenomenal goals record have attracted suitors from across Europe – Brondby in Denmark, CSKA of Russia and Nancy in France.
In January, he was close to teaming up with Spanish side Real Mallorca, but the deal fell through after the islanders failed to produce a bank guarantee.
Interestingly, another Nigerian striker, Oke Akpoveta from Ujah’s last Nigerian club, Warri Wolves, will most likely be the direct replacement for Ujah.
The 19-year-old Akpoveta has already trained with Lillestrom.
