Nigeria Vs Ghana On Saturday 25th June @ 4pm (All Africa Games 2011 Qualifier)

Hmmm. . .didn't want to post this match thread after all, it's ''just'' an All Africa Games Qualifier and there's no guarantee the match will be on TV but then again, it's NIGERIA Vs GHANA and any football match between Nigeria and Ghana is sure to be a ''cracker''. . .even if na new-born babies dey play .

PREVIEW

The ante of rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana will be raised this Saturday as the Nigerian U-23 team, the Dream Team V take on their Ghanaian counterparts in the first leg of the final round of the 2011 All-Africa Games Qualifier at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin, Edo State.

Fresh from their triumph over Tanzania in the London 2012 Olympic qualifiers, the Austin Eguavoen-led Dream team V will be going into this match with confidence at an all time high whereas the Ghanaians will be looking to making amends following their ouster from the London 2012 Olympic Games Qualifier by Sudan.

Since their ouster from the Olympic qualifiers, there has been changes at the helms of the Ghanaian U-23 team with Kwesi Appiah, deputy coach of senior team (Black Stars) replacing David Duncan. Appiah has named a strong squad for the encounter with players such as Jordan Ayew, Dominic Adiyiah, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Jonathan Mensah, Samuel Inkoom, Daniel Addo, Mubarak Wakaso, Daniel Opare, Rabiu Mohammed, Gladson Awako, Masahudu Alhassan, Boakye Yiadom, Afriyie Acquah amongst others.

On the other hand, gaffer of the Nigerian team, Austin Eguavoen has maintained the same side that beat Tanzania. That team had the likes of Ahmed Musa, Ekhigo Ehiosun, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Ganiyu Oseni, Obiora Nwankwo, Edet Ibok, Josiah Maduabuchi, Dele Ajiboye, Kingsley Udoh, Terna Suswan, Energy Oterpa, Sonne Aluko etc. His side has also been strengthened by the return of Odion Ighalo and Nosa Igiebor who could not play the Tanzania game last week due to club commitments.

The U-23 teams of Ghana and Nigeria met in 2007 in the final qualifying rounds of the 2007 All Africa Games and Beijing 2008 Olympics and then, the Ghanaians picked the All Africa Games ticket by playing 1-1 in Abuja and 0-0 in Accra while the Dream Team IV pipped them 3-2 in Abuja and played a 0-0 draw in Accra to qualify for the Olympics.

Kick-off should be 4pm Nigerian time and it's sure to be a thriller. So what's your prediction for this match? A Win, Draw or a Loss? Drop your comments and vote in the poll. . . . . . . .
